WOW....that brought tears to my eyes and gave me chills.
Thank you so much Tyler and thank your wife from me. That was so powerful.
Who wrote the song and what is it called?
I love the part where you talked about not selling out in law school. I think it is the same with most professions and like medicine too. We need to stay morally stalwart when tempted by fast cars and bigger houses. Thanks so much.
I really enjoyed the video. It struck a chord for me and I am recommending others see it. I appreciate your example. I remember being an English major while in school and reading Grapes of Wrath, Walden Pond and of course much of Nibley and longing for the minimalist life of giving and serving. But now thirty years later filled with law school ("the road most travelled"); practice of law, creeping cynicism, slow and steady accumulations of stuff ("where in the hell did it all come from?") and limited giving....I pause as I reflect on your video. thanks for your input and example...
Ron Madson....btw when I log on to this site it lists me as "wvanwagenen" so I hope this message reflects it came from me and not him---he should not be blamed for my musings.
"I say that they who are opposed to cooperation are opposed to heaven, to their own welfare, to the welfare of their neighbors, to truth and to everything that is good." -Brigham Young
"To build cooperativism is not to do the opposite of capitalism as if this system did not have any useful features... Cooperativism must surpass it, and for this purpose must assimilate its methods and dynamism."
